Climbing Kilimanjaro for KCC

Claire & Phil fundraiser
NZ couple Claire Wheldon and Phil Hacket recently spent two months volunteering at KCC. After their time in Kenya, they hit the road to continue their backpacking African adventure covering East and South Africa. On Monday 12 May, in raising donations and support for KCC, they are climbing Africa’s highest peak, Mt Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro stands 5696m feet above sea level and takes on average 5 days to come full circle. Among the challenges of Kilimanjaro is altitude sickness being one of the toughest challenges most climbers face. Phil and Claire have paid their whole way in the climb and 100% of donations received (minus gofundme and PayPal fees) will go directly to KCC in support of a major farming social enterprise sustainability project.

To learn more, click onto their Go Fund Me page and leave a donation and some words of encouragement for them.

All the best Phil and Claire, we will be thinking of you from Kenya. – KCC
