In July, I had the most amazing opportunity to teach at KCC. I remember how the people I was working with - Marcus, Catherine, the teachers, and even other volunteers - never failed to inspire me. I got to see the joy of life and learn how to appreciate what I have so much more by just observing how the kids play and live their lives.

On my first day, Marcus gave me a short tour around the slum area and I bumped into a man. "Jambo," he said. It means hello. He introduced me to his son and his brother, and then asked me, "So... what are we going to eat today?" I was utterly stunned. I'd love to help them as much as I could but I realised that my role back then was just to teach. I keep thinking about that question. There are thousands of people living in the slum area - many merely live on the breadline and some can't even afford to eat once a day. The slum area lacks proper sanitation and many children suffer from malnutrition & other illnesses.

KCC ECD is here to help the kids get out of the poverty. We provide the kids with lunch & vitamins every weekday and teach them basic writing & reading so that they are qualified to enter primary school. We aim to nurture these kids to become hopeful & independent children who can lead a decent life. However, we need your help to provide them with necessary food & vitamin supplies, and to expand & build a primary school nearby. Please donate & help the cause! Any amount is appreciated! Thank you! - Willie Rush
